I'm lucky that my roommates are happy to pose for me in photographs and I greatly appreciate their willingness to put up with indecisiveness in regards to what exactly I'm looking for within a photo.
For this week's assignment, I decided to shoot within my apartment which ended up being far more difficult than I originally thought. The lighting is terrible really--even during the day the rooms never seemed bright enough--but I tried my best to work within the given environment.
For my narrative, I decided to capture the idea of songwriting--I'm a musical novice but I love the notion of the songwriting process. A lot of my friends are musicians and I've always enjoyed talking with them about how they approach writing songs. These photos and this narrative are a little more basic, but I took my roommate Alysse and gave her my ukulele and took the following 10 photos.
I tried my best to view the subject and idea in different angles (standing on chairs, sitting on the floor, above, below, close ups, etc, etc) while still staying with the same narrative line. No epic songs were written in the process, but it was still a fun experience.
